Who is responsible for your data
This page explains how gamblits.org.uk – an independent information portal that covers Gamblits and similar operators – handles personal data. We are not affiliated with the operator itself, and this notice covers only what happens on our own site, not what happens once a reader clicks through and registers on Gamblits' own platform.
As the publisher of this site, we act as the data controller for information collected here: basic technical data from your visit, and anything you submit voluntarily through a contact form. If you have registered directly with Gamblits, its own privacy notice – not this one – governs that relationship.
What reaches us
We collect two broad categories of information. The first is technical: your IP address, browser type, device information and pages viewed, gathered automatically through server logs and cookies. The second is anything you choose to give us – for example, your email address and message content if you write to [email protected].
- Device and browser details (type, screen size, operating system)
- Approximate location, derived from IP address
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Contact-form submissions, including any email address you provide
We do not collect financial details, gambling-account information or identity documents – that data, where relevant, sits with the operator you registered with, not with us.
Why we process it, and on what basis
We process technical data to keep the site running properly, to understand which content is useful, and to improve navigation. We rely on legitimate interest for basic analytics and on your consent for anything non-essential, such as marketing cookies. Where you contact us directly, we process your message on the basis of taking steps at your request.
Who else sees it
We share data with a small number of third parties who help run the site: hosting providers, analytics services, and – where used – advertising partners. None of these partners receive enough information to identify you personally in most cases, and we never sell personal data to anyone. Some of these providers may be based outside the UK; where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have a set of rights over the information we hold about you:
- Access – ask us what data we hold about you
- Rectification – correct anything inaccurate
- Erasure – ask us to delete data where there's no good reason to keep it
- Restriction – limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
- Portability – receive your data in a portable format
- Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdrawing consent – at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these, write to [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
How long we keep it
Technical logs are generally kept for a limited period before being deleted or anonymised. Contact-form correspondence is retained only as long as needed to deal with your query and to keep a reasonable record afterwards, then removed.
Protecting minors
This site, and the gambling content it discusses, is intended strictly for adults. Access is restricted to visitors aged 18+, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact [email protected] and we'll remove it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the site or the law changes. Any revision will be posted here, so it's worth checking back occasionally. This version was last updated on 6 August 2026.
